Lian Xin (pronounced lee-en shin) is a two-year old Chihuahua. Born in Long Island, NY, she now lives and works in Upstate New York.
Lian uses non-toxic tempera and acrylic paints on canvas board. Her painting technique is to step in different color paints provided on plates by her assistant, then she runs, jumps, scratches and even licks the paint onto canvas boards that have been spread out over the studio floor. She is frequently “rewarded” during her creative process with delicious healthy treats.
The results are beautiful, unique pieces of art, composed of many layers of "paw strokes", reminiscent of flower petals. Each piece is sealed with a protective coat of varnish on both sides and has Lian's picture and bio on the back.
